Solid State Disks Limited (SSDL) featured in the November 29 issue of Electronics Weekly.
In a two-page article by their Chief Technology Officer, Brian McSloy, SSDL explain how solid-state based storage devices are able to emulate the behaviour of yesteryear data drives, such as floppy disk and mag tape drives.
This means that when old tech drives (which are now obsolete) fail, it need not mark the end of the hosts systems life. Indeed, you’ll be surprised by just how many systems, designed in the 1980s and 1990s, are still in use today.
